Estate Grown and Bottled at Bellview Winery Outer Coastal Plain, NJ
The Jardin Red is made from a blend of Cabernet Franc, Chambourcin, and Blaufrankisch. Chambourcin is the signature red grape of the Mid-Atlantic region. It shows savory deep red fruits, herbal tones, and hints of clove. Cabernet Franc, widely planted in Bordeaux and the Loire grows well in the Mid-Atlantic and provides lovely aromatics. The Blaufrankisch is a variety from Austria which is happy growing on the East Coast and gives deep color and body. The gravel soils of the Outer Coastal Plain give this wine a silken texture and balanced acidity. A small percentage of American oak lends the wine elegance and polish.
